Monocon Recognised with the EER Employer of the Year Award!

Monocon are pleased to be recognised with the EER Employer of the Year award!

This award celebrates our ongoing commitment to training, development, and investing in the next generation of engineers. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of, because it’s our apprentices who really make it happen.

Below we will highlight some of the amazing apprentices we have at Monocon – showcasing the hands-on experience, innovation, and skills they’re developing.

Mackenzie is currently completing a Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship while working in the Electrical Department in our Engineering Division. Mackenzie is gaining valuable hands-on experience, developing essential electrical and engineering skills, and making a meaningful contribution to the team as he progresses through his apprenticeship.

Jak is currently completing his Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship while working within the Design Office and alongside the Mechanical Team in our Engineering Division. Throughout his apprenticeship, Jak is gaining valuable hands-on experience in mechanical design and equipment builds, as well as designing and manufacturing 3D-printed components.

This combination of practical and innovative work is enabling him to strengthen his technical knowledge, develop real-world engineering capability, and contribute directly to live projects. Jak’s progress is a great example of how investing in apprentices not only strengthens our internal teams but also supports the long-term future of engineering and our industry.

We’re especially proud to highlight Hayden Pearman, an apprentice currently studying with Chesterfield College. Hayden is undertaking a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship while working with us in our Machine Shop within the Engineering Division.

He is gaining valuable hands-on experience in precision machining, developing key engineering skills, and making a positive contribution to the team every day. Investing in apprentices like Hayden is an important part of our commitment to training, development, and the future of engineering.

Connor has progressed from completing his Level 3 qualification to now studying for his HNC in Engineering and Manufacturing Technology. He works on-site with our maintenance team, supporting production operations and collaborating directly with customers to deliver effective engineering solutions. In addition to his core maintenance responsibilities, Connor is developing his expertise in robotics and PLC programming, strengthening our automation capabilities and supporting continuous improvement projects across site.

His growing skillset enables him to contribute to both mechanical and control system developments, adding real value to our engineering operations. Connor’s talent and commitment have been recognised previously, having been awarded Apprentice of the Year – a testament to his hard work, technical ability, and future potential. We’re proud to have him contributing to our team and helping to shape the future of engineering.
